Project Manager – Federal Construction (Washington, DC Area)

We are partnered with a federal contractor to find a Project Manager to lead high-volume, quick-turnaround federal construction projects in the Washington, DC area. This role supports a $200M contract and focuses on growing annual project volume with NAVFAC and other potential clients, while ensuring operational excellence and strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple construction projects from start to finish, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget control.

  • Use RS Means software to produce accurate estimates and lead project negotiations.

  • Collaborate directly with NAVFAC and other customers to define scope and ensure alignment with goals.

  • Drive strategic growth by identifying new opportunities to increase project volume and revenue.

  • Maintain operational excellence across all active sites and ensure high customer satisfaction.

  • Build relationships with key stakeholders and gain a strong understanding of the contract.

  • Conduct site visits, assess ongoing projects, and develop an action plan to increase volume.

  • Develop a pipeline strategy and strengthen subcontractor/vendor relationships.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (preferred).

  • 5+ years of experience managing federal or commercial construction projects, ideally with NAVFAC, USACE, or other government clients.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and pursue new project opportunities and support strategic business development efforts.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.

  • Proficiency with RS Means, e4Clicks, or similar estimating software.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to interface directly with government clients and field teams.

  • Experience overseeing subcontractors, managing contracts, and navigating compliance and safety standards.

  • Ability to work on-site in the Washington, DC area and travel to job sites as needed.
